Choosing The Best Custom Golf Umbrella To Promote Your Business

If you are hosting a golf day or a golf-themed promotional day, one of the best options to promote yourself is through custom golf umbrellas. They are a great way to promote a business or cause with the logo being highly visible on the side of the umbrella. Golf umbrellas have large canopies, so this means your logo or promotional message will be clearly seen by others. It’s a great way to get your logo out in the marketplace as one person using a golf umbrella can potentially pass hundreds of people in just one day. It makes that canopy prime branding space, so why not use it to promote your business.

There are many considerations you need to decide on before making your purchase, so we thought we’d got through some of the more important things you need to consider before handing over your hard-earned cash for some branded golf umbrellas.

1. Size: This might sound like an obvious one, but when it comes to golf umbrellas, size matters. Ideally, you want something with a canopy size of at least 130cm diameter. You can never have an umbrella that is too large when it comes to golf, so try and opt for a larger diameter to help protect against both the sun and the rain.

2. Weight: This might sound like a strange one, but some umbrellas can be very heavy and cumbersome to hold. This doesn’t mean they will protect you from the elements any better than a more lightweight style. It probably means it is an all-metal construction. This is common for older styles of golf umbrellas, but now they are being made from a more lightweight material such as fibreglass. It doesn’t mean they are inferior if made from fibreglass. In fact, being able to bend slightly in the wind makes them less likely to get bent out of shape when a big wind gust comes by, plus they are easier to hold and carry.

3. Wind Resistance: This one is important, regardless of whether it is being used on a golf course or getting to work. How many times have you had an umbrella where a wind gust comes up and the whole umbrella gets bent or blown inside out. It’s so frustrating. To help avoid this, choose a golf umbrella that is vented. Usually, this means there is a gap between the two layers of the umbrella so if a wind gust comes up, the wind is able to escape through the canopy, rather than being caught inside it. This stops the umbrella from getting blown inside out.

4. Grip: This part is sometimes overlooked, but it is important, especially if you are in blustery conditions. Straight wooden handles are nice for executive umbrellas, but for storms or windy conditions, they don’t bode well if they get damp. The grips can become slippery and hard to hold. The best is some type of rubber foam. You can grip them easily and they also cushion your hands. The best part is if the grip gets wet, you are not in danger of losing the umbrella if a wind gust comes along, as the grip is still “sticky” enough for you to hold onto the handle

5. Shaft: Carbon Fibre and Fibreglass are the two types of shafts and ribs we highly recommend. Steel does not bend. As soon as there is a wind gust and a rib gets bent, the umbrella is no good. With carbon fibre and fibreglass, both the shaft and the ribs bend with the wind. This means the umbrella stays usable, even in high storm and wind conditions.
