How Branded Beach Umbrellas Are Made: The Process from Start to Finish

As soon as summer rolls around, one of the first things people want to buy is beach umbrellas, especially if they’re going to be spending any time on the sand or at the pool.

However, most people aren’t aware of how these umbrellas come into existence and end up outside their homes or hotel rooms. If you’re curious about this process and want to know more about how promotional beach umbrellas are made, keep reading to learn more. Here’s what goes into making these umbrellas from start to finish:

3 Main Parts of an Umbrella

The three main parts of an umbrella are the canopy, the shaft, and the ribs.

The canopy is the fabric part of the umbrella that provides shade. The shaft is the metal or wooden pole that supports the canopy. The ribs are the metal or wooden rods that connect the shaft to the canopy and give it its shape.

Nowadays, umbrellas come in various shapes, sizes, colours and materials. Some may be for outdoor use only, while others can also be used indoors. There are even luxury beach umbrellas made with all-natural fibres such as bamboo and jute. It doesn't matter what type you choose because they all have one thing in common — they'll keep you or your customer cool when the sun beats down.

Materials Used in an Umbrella
Most beach umbrellas are made of either polyester or nylon.

These materials are chosen for their durability and resistance to UV rays, water, and wind. The fabric is also treated with a special coating that helps it repel sand and salt water.

The frame of the umbrella is usually made of aluminium or steel. Aluminium is a lightweight metal that is resistant to corrosion. Steel is a more robust metal that can withstand high winds.

Steps in the Making Process of Umbrellas
To make an umbrella, you need fabric, metal ribs, a metal stretcher, a ferrule, and a handle.
1. First, the fabric is cut to the desired size and shape.
2. Next, the metal ribs are placed on the fabric and sewn in place.
3. Then, the metal stretcher is placed on the ribs and sewn in place.
4. After that, the ferrule is placed on the end of the stretcher and sewn in place.
5. Finally, the handle is placed on the end of the ferrule and sewn in place.

Conclusion
After the fabric is cut, it's time to start stitching the panels together. This is done by first sewing the valance, or decorative edge, onto the top of the umbrella. Next, the ribs are attached to the fabric and inserted into the pole. The ribs are what give the umbrella its shape and provide support for when it's opened. Finally, the bottom of the umbrella is sewn shut, and a pointed tip is added to help keep it in place when staked into the sand.

However, for marketing purposes, you may need to brand your beach umbrellas. The process may be done before attaching the components of the umbrella.
